Singapore Airlines Corporate Info: Singapore Airlines is the world’s second largest carrier by market capitalization and is one of the few to carry a “five star†rating from Skytrax. Singapore Airlines flies to over 90 destinations. The corporate headquarters is located in Singapore. Singapore Airlines was originally established as Malayan Airways Limited in October of 1937 but didn’t have its first flight until April 2, 1947. In December of 1952, Malayan Airways changed to Malaysian Airlines then to Malaysia-Singapore Airlines (MSA) in 1966. Singapore Airlines Rewards Programs/Perks: Singapore Airlines’ programs are called KrisFlyer and PPS Club. They offer air travel, upgrades, and gifts in exchange for miles. If you have a Singapore Airlines credit card (offered through AMEX) or use their Partners services, you can earn miles and redeem them for rewards. The Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer program has two elite statuses of membership: Elite Silver and Elite Gold with being a PPS Club member being a separate but the most elite status. Singapore Airlines member Lounges are called Silver Kris Lounge and are available to passengers who are First and Raffles Class customers, PPS Club and KrisFLyer Elite Gold members. In addition, Singapore Airlines customers can utilize the Star Alliance member lounges world wide. U. S. Kris Lounges are located in Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO) others are located Adelaide, Amsterdam, Bangkok, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, London, Manila, Melbourne, Osaka, Penang, Perth, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney and Taipei.
